INTERTEK: Airflow Test On Roof Vents

INTERTEK report gives the result of Airflow tests conducted on roof vents.They also generated performance curves for different wind speeds

The Results Of Measurements - Airflow:

Model 301: Exhaust 421 Cubic Feet of Air per Minute with a wind velocity of 9 km/hr.

Model 303: Exhaust 361 Cubic Feet of Air per Minute with a wind velocity of 9 km/hr.

Model 302: Exhaust 285 Cubic Feet of Air per Minute with a wind velocity of 9 km/hr.

CSA Standards

To ensure a healthy and durable environment, the National Building Code mandates adequate ventilation in attics. Two primary standards govern this requirement: Section 9.19.1 of the Code and the ACNOR CAN3-A93-M82 standard.
 
One common solution for achieving proper attic ventilation is the use of CSA Class 8011-01 Passive Airflow Ventilators. These ventilators comply with the CSA A93:19 Standard and are specifically designed to allow venting of unoccupied spaces within buildings to the exterior. Performance Testing:

  • Hurricane Resistance: The ventilator passed testing for resistance to hurricane winds of 110 mph combined with 8 inches of rain. This indicates it can withstand significant wind and rain during a storm.
  • Deformation/Collapse Resistance: The ventilator also passed a test for resistance to deformation or collapse, ensuring it maintains its structural integrity under pressure.
 

Corrosion Resistance: The ventilator additionally passed a 1000-hour salt and spray test, demonstrating good resistance to corrosion from the elements.
